Genevieve Oswald - As an Anusara Inspired E-RYT 200 yoga teacher, Genevieve Oswald loves to live her yoga. In 2006, many years after sustaining a serious break and subsequent fusion to her lumbar spine, Genevieve found the practice of yoga enabled her to regain much of the physical prowess she had previously deemed gone for good. Surprised to experience a newfound and extraordinarily spacious sense of physical well-being, self empowerment, and the life enhancing qualities gained through open hearted willingness to face life with courage and optimism no matter how it presents itself, led Genevieve to complete a 200 hour Anusara Teacher Training with Bea Doyle in 2009. Genevieve teaches three regular classes a week at Shree Yoga Taos that inspire open hearted willingness, mindfulness, presence, and the integration of one’s physical, mental, and emotional bodies to enhance self-awareness and improve the overall quality of one's life. Because a happy life is one worth living. LEVEL I, LEVEL II
Alice Zorthian - Alice has been a yoga practitioner since 1995, when a friend told her that it would relieve her pregnancy symptoms. She found the mind, body, soul connection that yoga provides to improve everything in her life. She finally took her 200 hour teacher training in 2014 at AuraFitness with Aura Garver and Ashleigh Beyer. Her teaching style is flow based, with an emphasis on proper alignment. As a 25 year Elementary School Teacher, where the classroom can become rigid, she loves the fun and spontaneity that occurs in the yoga studio with children. She always loves what the children have to teach her. KIDS YOGA, MORNING YOGA
Kari Malen - Kari’s yoga path began as a physical practice to compliment an active lifestyle. Later explorations led to a fascination with the ‘so much more’ that yoga has to offer. It was the intrigue and misconceptions about yoga from family and friends that lead her to teach. Kari studied in Mysore, India under Yogacharya Barath Shetty – a disciple of B.K.S. Iyengar – in the IndeaYoga style, earning her teaching certificate in 2012. IndeaYoga combines Hatha, Ashtanga and Iyengar styles including elements of meditation, pranayama and Patanjali ‘s Yoga Sutras. Beyond her practice, Kari works for a non-profit organization focused on improving human and environmental health in the developing world. She is honored to be part of the Shree family.
